Philanthropist takes high ranking on US sires list
Drakenstein Stud’s exciting young sire Philanthropist, whose first South African bred foals were born this season, is currently high up on the North American Sires list (by AEI).

The log is headed by the USA’s joint most expensive sire War Front, who heads Empire Maker, Smart Strike and Awesome Again.

Philanthropist is a highly respectable 14th on the list of North America’s top sires by AEI. The son of Kris S has the top-class AEI (Average Earnings Index) of 2.00 off a Comparative Index (CI) of 1.49.

Philanthropist, who is from the same family as the late, great National Assembly, is in front of such world leading sires Candy Ride, Giant’s Causeway, Tiznow, Bernardini and Malibu Moon (to mention but a few).

A Gr3 winning son of one of Roberto’s very sire sons, Philanthropist’s top sons include Canadian champion Pender Harbour and Gr1 winning sprinter Phil’s Dream.

His first SA crop of foals have attracted rave reviews, and Philanthropist is a stallion to follow very closely in the coming seasons.
