Querari yearlings impress at National Yearling Sale
Maine Chance Farms’ promising young sire Querari made a splash at the recent Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

The son of Oasis Dream was the sale’s second leading first crop sire (behind only Visionaire), with his 5 yearlings grossing R1.815 million – for an average price of R363 000.
Querari’s yearlings fetched up to R650 000, with the top price being for a filly out of Spring Wonder.

A high-class race horse, Querari’s five victories included the Group One Premio Presidente Republica, and he won or placed in another four stakes races.

Querari sports a superb pedigree. He is by champion sprinter, and world leading sire, Oasis Dream – whose sons Approve, Showcasing and Arcano, all recently sired the first winners from their initial crops to race.

Querari’s dam Quetena is a stakes winning daughter of champion German racehorse and sire Acatenango (also broodmare sire of Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom), while second dam, Quebrada, won the G2 German 1000 Guineas.
