Seul Amour dam in foal to classic winner
Vanree Stud’s resident sire Seul Amour is a sire with an exceptional pedigree.
He is a son of the great sire Zabeel, whose offspring include more than 150 stakes winners and is out of a superb racemare to boot.

A son of legendary sire Sir Tristram, the recently pensioned Zabeel has no fewer than 43 Gr1 winners to his credit, including three Melbourne Cup winners and four Cox Plate winners. To date, Zabeel’s offspring have earned over $170 million in prize money and he has been champion sire four times in New Zealand and twice in Australia.

His sire sons include highly successful stallion Greys Inn, as well as Octagonal, the sire of champion Australian sire Lonhro. Another top-class sire son of Zabeel is Gr1 Cox Plate winner Savabeel, the sire of more than 30 stakes winners, and five Gr1 winners.

Seul Amour is out of the outstanding racemare, Grand Archway, who is currently in foal to 2000 Guineas winner Makfi (by Dubawi). A top-class racemare, Grand Archway won nine races in Australia, including four at Gr1 level. Her victories included both the Victorian and Australian Oaks, and she also beat colts when successful in the Gr1 CF Orr Stakes of 1999.

Grand Archway, by champion sprinter Archway, has also done well at stud. Her offspring include the stakes winners Seul Amour and Stand Tall, as well as recent Australian winner Grand Excess, and the promising Hong Kong performer Sichuan Exec.
The latter, a son of Exceed And Excel, has earned over $2.9 million in Hong Kong, and has won or been placed on seven occasions.

Seul Amour has had limited opportunities at stud, but has already one sired one top-class local perfomer in Heart Of A Lion as well as the high-class Australian feature race contender, Coldens Choice.
From just 14 runners to date, Seul Amour has been represented by seven runners who have either won or finished in the money.

He has 7 lots on offer at the 2014 Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale including a colt out of the ten time stakes winning Caboose (Lot 86), and a half-sister to the talented seven time winner Insearchofthesun (Lot 228).
