Superb Silvano soars!

Superb Silvano soars!
Maine Chance Farms’ resident sire Silvano has long been regarded as one of South Africa’s elite sires. But, even by his high standards, Silvano is enjoying a truly phenomenal year.

He is currently well clear on the general sires list, with his offspring having earned R13 000 000 – and counting! Should his offspring continue to fire, Silvano looks well on track to record his first SA sires title.

Silvano’s stakes winners this season include Gr1 J&B Met winner Martial Eagle, and recent R2 000 000 President’s Champion Challenge hero Heavy Metal.
He has also got an outstanding crop of 3yos, headed by Gr2 Gauteng Guineas champ Tellina as well as Saturday’s unbeaten Gr2 KRA Guineas victor Vercingetorix. Silvano’s 3yos also include Gr1 SA Derby runner up Gothic and Gr1 SA Fillies Classic runner up Do You Remember.

During the past weekened, Silvano runners won or placed in the KRA Guineas, Drill Hall Stakes and Winter Guineas.

Now the sire of 35 stakes winners (who have earned $16 000 000 globally), Silvano is also represented by some exceptionally well bred 2yos this season.

Among his juveniles are siblings to champion Aslan, as well as to stakes winners The Black Rose, Geepee S, Sedge, Whiteline Fever, James Jaguar and the sensational filly Schiffer.

Silvano has also enjoyed a good year in the sale ring. He sired the sales topper at the 2013 Cape Premier Yearling Sale (Book 1) – a colt out of Racing Heart who was sold for R3 250 000.
