Third winner for Elusive Fort
Klipdrif Stud’s promising young sire Elusive Fort was represented by his third first crop winner on Friday.
His daughter Conquering Queen, who was making just the second start of her career, ran on strongly to win a juvenile plate over 1000m. In scoring a comprehensive one and a half length victory, Conquering Queen accounted for five previous winners.
Bred by Over The Moon Stud, Conquering Queen is out of the Among Men mare Secret Conquest, a half-sister to the smart performer Raise A Ratoon.
She maintains a fantastic strike rate enjoyed by the first progeny of former Equus Champion Elusive Fort.
To date, the son of Fort Wood has been represented by seven runners – five of whom have either won or finished in the money.
Elusive Fort’s first 2yos include the very promising filly Elusive Stars, who ran a fine third to star filly Hot Affair in the Listed Perfect Promise Sprint.
The champion looks a young sire with a bright future!
Elusive Fort, who earned over R2 million during his racing career, won three Grade One races during his career – the Horse Chestnut Stakes, SA Derby and Daily News 2000.
Like leading sire Dynasty and promising young stallion Horse Chestnut, Elusive Fort is a son of the hugely influential champion sire Fort Wood.
He is a half-brother to former Cape champion filly Easyjadeasy, and is from the “E” family, which has produced such champions as Ecurie, Empress Club, and Eventuail.
