Gardener’s Delight with her Oratorio Filly

Highlands Farm is the home to numerous blue blooded, and well performed mares. Two of the farm’s best mares recently gave birth to really attractive foals- by two of the Cape’s most exciting stallions.

Gardener’s Delight, the dam of Equus Champion and globetrotting superstar Soft Falling Rain, recently foaled down this lovely Oratorio filly.

The bay is a half sister to three other winners beside Soft Falling Rain, including the eye catching debut winners My Nephew Eric (now campaigning in Hong Kong) and Splendid Garden.

The filly’s half sister, Rose Garden, is herself now at stud, and gave birth to a lovely Oratorio colt this season.
A superbly bred daughter of champion sire Giant’s Causeway, Gardener’s Delight has been covered by Highlands’ resident stallion Jackson.

One of the finest racemares ever to race in South Africa, former champion Dancer’s Daughter, gave birth to this attractive colt. The colt is by former champion sire Silvano, and has to be one of the best bred foals born in South Africa this season!

The charismatic Dancer’s Daughter was South Africa’s Equus Champion Older Female Miler in 2008 and Champion Older Female in 2009. Her wins included a famous dead-heat in the Gr1 Vodacom Durban July, with legendary racehorse Pocket Power, and four other Grade 1 wins

Dancer’s Daughter, already dam of the smart filly Dashing Scarlet, may return to Silvano, or possibly be covered by Highlands’s exciting young sire, and former Irish Champion, Pathfork.

Another of Highlands’ top mares is the wonderful Cozzene daughter Moonlit Prairie. From the hugely successful No Class family, Moonlit Prairie has more than lived up to her regal bloodlines at stud. Not only is she dam of triple Grade 1 winner, and Highlands’ new sire, Jackson, but Moonlit Prairie is also responsible for top sprinter Jade Bay (Gr3 Lebelo Handicap) and one of the Cape’s most exciting 3yos in training – Heartland.

Moonlit Prairie may visit Oratorio or her close relative Sail From Seattle this season.
