Top-class NYS draft from Oldlands

Top-class NYS draft from Oldlands
The Oldlands Stud is a consistent source of high-class athletes, who are sound and tough, as well as being competitive all around the world!
From the likes of top-class Dubai contenders Sanshaawes and Lucky Find, to such high-class feature race winners as Go Indigo (Gr2 Fillies Guineas), English Garden (Gr1 SA Classic) and Astro News (Gr3 Cup Trial), Oldlands Stud has produced numerous top-class thoroughbreds, both locally and internationally.

Oldlands are proud to present five impressive yearlings at the 2014 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale – which takes place in Germiston next Sunday and Monday.

First of the Oldlands draft to enter the sales ring is Lot 46. Named Sapsan, this bay filly is a daughter of leading first crop sire Lateral, whose first juvenile runners this season already include four winners. A half-sister to four winners, Sapsan is out of a stakes placed winner of four, and she hails from the same family as the world class sprinter Nocturnal Affair.

Next into the ring will be 251, a beautifully bred daughter of Oasis Dream’s Group One winning son, Querari. This bay (who has been named Volga) is out of the six times stakes winner Dacha, and is a half-sister to no fewer than nine winners – three of whom are black type performers. This is also the family of this season’s brilliant 3yo, and dual classic runner up, Captain America.

Oldlands Stud’s resident sire Indigo Magic is the sire of lot 336. Indigo Magic, a son of the great Gone West, is a proven sire, whose offspring include classic winner Go Indigo and top sprinter Shades Of Indigo. This bay colt, who goes by the name of Arpad, is a half-brother to five winners. His dam is the lightning fast National Assembly mare Happy Harriet, whose four wins included the Gr3 Strelitzia Stakes. He is closely related to recent Gr2 Senor Santa Handicap winner, and Gr1 Computaform Sprint contender Happy Forever.

Awesome Effect is the name of lot 458 – a daughter of former Equus Champion Sprinter, and promising young sire, Rebel King. A half-sister to 3 winners, this filly’s dam is a winning daughter of champion sire Western Winter and high-class stakes winner Dacha. Her stakes winning relatives include Pirate’s Gold and Cruise Collection, and this nicely made filly is also related to 2014 July entrant, Captain America.

Champion sire Silvano (whose offspring include champions Aslan, Bold Silvano, and Kings Gambit – to name a few) is the sire of lot 494. This bay colt, named Astral Promise, is an own brother to multiple feature race winner Astro News – who has now earned over R1 million in prize money. This colt is also a half-brother to high-class feature race winner Darling Moon.

The Oldlands draft can be viewed at Stables A in the TBA complex at Germiston.
