Trippi’s good run continues
Drakenstein Stud’s leading sire Trippi has enjoyed a highly successful season in 2013-2014 thus far.
Trippi has been represented by no fewer than 11 stakes horses in South Africa thus far in the season.

Trippi’s top performers this season include Gr3 Diana Stakes winner Hammie’s Hooker, and smart 3yo fillies Not Sulking (2nd Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas) and Lanner Falcon (2nd Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas).

He recently enjoyed a graded double when Trip Tease won the recent Gr3 Man O’War Sprint and his unbeaten son Punk Rocker took top honours in Sunday’s Gr3 Godolphin Barb Stakes.

Another juvenile sired by Trippi is the promising filly Cotton Candy – who was second in both the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery and Listed East Cape Nursery, while yet another high-class juvenile produced by the son of End Sweep is Sapphire Gem, a runner in Saturday’s Listed Southern Pumps Perfect Promise Sprint.

Currently third on South Africa’s leading sire of juveniles list, Trippi’s current crop of 2yos have produced just 12 runners thus far, but already nine have either won or finished in the money.

His 3yo crop has also done well, and has produced, to date, has produced five stakes horses to date, including Gr1 Golden Slipper winner For The Lads, and the afore mentioned Lanner Falcon and Not Sulking.

Trippi has a blue blooded draft on offer at the 2014 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
His 28 lots on sale includes an own sister to Punk Rocker (Lot 9), a half-brother to top sprinter Nocturnal Affair (Lot 174), a filly out of champion Bold Ellinore (Lot 194), a colt out of the superbly bred Candy Singer (Lot 201), a half-brother to leading Gr1 Champions Challenge contender Halve The Deficit (Lot 473), and a colt out of Gr1 winning Jet Master mare Love Is In The Air (Lot 414).

Trippi’s draft also includes relatives of such outstanding international performers as Discreet Cat (Lot 316), Lammtarra (Lot 427), Dubai Millennium (Lot 331), Singspiel (Lot 505) and Peintre Celebre (Lot 515).
