Zandvliet bred wins in Singapore
The Zandvliet Stud bred Spanish Train won in Singapore on Sunday in smart style to continue the good run of form enjoyed by South African thoroughbreds in that country.
The victorious gelding, a son of Gone West horse Surging River, won his second race by one and a half lengths for trainer David Hill and he should not stop here.
Spanish Train, a R230 000 purchase at the 2009 Grand West Yearling Sale, has now won or placed in nine outings in Singapore.
The gelding, who is owned by the Lady Luck No 2 Stable, is out of the stakes winning Real Account mare Real Speed.
Zandvliet have a draft of four lots on offer at the 2014 Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale. Their string includes a Lateral colt out of a half-sister to November Handicap winner Swartland (Lot 126), and a Lateral filly from the same family as Gr1 Summer Cup hero Wolf Whistle and legendary champion Wolf Power (Lot 177).
