Irish Champion Pathfork, who has stood the 2018 season at the Sandown Stud, was responsible for a hugely impressive two-year-old winner at Kenilworth on Wednesday.
His daughter Miss Honey jumped out smartly and was always up with the speed, and, when jockey Aldo Domeyer asked for her effort, the Highlands bred 2yo drew away to post a first up two and a quarter length win in a maiden juvenile plate over 1000m.

Miss Honey was one of three winners for trainer Candice Bass-Robinson and four for jockey Aldo Domeyer on the day.

The filly, bred on the same Pathfork/Fort Wood cross as brilliant G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes winner Red Chesnut Road, was a R90 000 buy from the 2018 April Yearling Sale.

Miss Honey was the second 2yo runner for her sire this season thus far, with Pathfork colt Path Of Choice having made a pleasing debut when second over 1000m at Kenilworth on Cape Guineas day.

An unbeaten G1 winner at two, Pathfork has enjoyed good success once again in 2018 with his runners including G1 Allan Robertson Championship winner Mighty High, star East Cape filly Madame Speaker and Listed Secretariat Stakes runner up Viking Trail.

Pathfork, a Distorted Humor half-brother to 2019 Kentucky Derby hope War Of Will, has three lots on January’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale including a filly out of G3 Yellowwood Handicap winner Arch Mistress and a half-sister to millionaire Trip Tease.
