Ideal World relative maintains her unbeaten record

3rd June 2019

Promising 3yo filly Obligate, whose dam Responsible is an Oasis Dream half-sister to the champion dam of Mauritzfontein’s successful sire Ideal World, made it three wins from as many starts when she won the G2 Prix de Sandringham at Chantilly on Sunday.

Obligate

An impressive winner of the Listed Prix des Lilas on her previous start, Obligate was all the rage for Sunday’s 1600m contest and was duly sent off a 9-10 favourite.
The daughter of Frankel showed heart when making all to win the 2019 Prix de Sandringham by a head and may next be aimed at the G1 Prix Jean Prat. Trainer Pascal Bary said after the win, “”She’s a very talented filly, but is not easy to train as she has a tendency to be quite keen. She shows it going to post and again in her races, but she makes good use of her early speed and big stride. Besides having class, she has a huge heartand gives everything she has in every race.”

Remarkably, the first three all carry the blood of Hasili (Ideal World’s granddam) with runner up Pure Zen being a daughter of Zoffany (who was sired by Hasili’s son Dansili) and third place finisher Glance being sired by Dansili himself.

Ideal World, a Kingmambo half-brother to G1 winner Romantica and a son of Hasili’s Breeders’ Cup winning champion Banks Hill, has enjoyed a fantastic season in 2018-2019, with his star performers headed by Rainbow Bridge (G1 Sun Met) and the ill-fated Samurai Warrior (G1 SA Derby), as well as the stakes winners Dark Moon Rising, Onesie and Helen’s Ideal.
His brilliant son Rainbow Bridge is a confirmed starter for Saturday’s G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge.

Rainbow Bridge

Also sire of Equus Champions Smart Call (now in foal to sire sensation Kingman) and Hermoso Mundo, Ideal World has five lots on offer at July’s KZN Yearling Sale.
