The Millstream Farm based Noble Tune had a good day on Tuesday, when the son of Unbridled’s Song came up with two eye catching winners at Turffontein. It was a near 100% strike rate for Noble Tune, whose only other runner carded, Humble Tune, ran second in Tuesday’s seventh race.

Noble Tune’s two-year-old son Noble Striker got the day off to a perfect start for his sire when won Tuesday’s first race, a maiden juvenile plate over 1450m, for trainer Corne Spies and jockey Warren Kennedy.

The gelded Noble Striker flew up, from off the pace, and got up to win going away by over a length and a quarter.
Bred and owned by Justus Van Wyk (who owns him in partnership with Corne Spies Racing), Noble Striker was making his fourth start on Tuesday, with the son of Noble Tune having finished fourth two starts previously.

Noble Tune’s second success at Turffontein came when his Tony Moodley bred and owned son Ivalo’s Prince downed well bred debut winner Sound Of Summer to win the fifth race in fine style. Under Muzi Yeni, the gelded four-year-old kicked on strongly to score by just over a length for trainer Paul Matchett. Out of the Muhtafal mare Dazzle, Ivalo’s Prince has now won or placed in six of just ten starts.

Winner of the G3 Pilgrim Stakes at two and G2 American Turf Stakes a year later, former Breeders’ Cup runner Noble Tune has a top-class three-year-old to his name this season in the form of Copper Mountain. The latter, runner up in the recent G1 H F Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut Stakes, holds entries for all of the G1 Champions Challenge, G2 Guineas and G2 Drill Hall Stakes.
