Drakenstein Stud’s red-hot young sire One World is on track to set a new record for the number of two-year-old winners sired by a South African stallion in a single season, and he came up with his 27th first-crop winner on Saturday.
One World filly Sensoria got off the mark when she won the TAB Telebet 0861 000 822 Maiden Juvenile Plate Fillies (1600m) at Turffontein on Saturday.
Under Kabelo Matsunyane, the Robyn Klaasen trained filly dug down gamely to stay on and win by half a length.
Sensoria, who is out of the Dynasty mare Field Of Light, was bred by Carl and Amanda de Vos.
The filly was a R150 000 buy from the 2023 National Yearling Sale.
Her G1 Sun Met winning sire One World has made a sensational start to his stud career and is South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire and Leading Sire of 2YOs for 2023-2024.
The champion son of Captain Al, whose first crop has already produced five horses who have either won or been placed in stakes races, has 12 lots on offer at the August Two Year Old Sale, including a colt (Lot 9) out of G2 SA Fillies Nursery winner Virgo’s Babe, and a half-brother (Lot 20) to R3 million plus earner Invidia.
