Moutonshoek’s inform stallion The United States looks to have another exciting prospect in the form of Care Forgot. The latter made it three wins from seven starts when she won the Beach Beauty Mile (1600m) at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday.
Trained by Barend Botes, three-year-old Care Forgot was given a superb ride by the inform Rachel Venniker in Sunday’s R120 000 contest. Venniker bought Care Forgot with a strong late ran, and the pair got up to down favourite Destiny Of Fire by a short neck.
Bred by Moutonshoek, Care Forgot is out of the Hawk Wing mare Love Unlimited.
The filly, a winner of three of her last four starts, was a R300 000 buy from the 2023 August Two Year Old Sale.
Her G1 Ranvet Stakes winning sire The United States had enjoyed success at Hollywoodbets Durbanville one day earlier when his daughter Glee Club won the ninth race for Greg Ennion and Grant Van Niekerk.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, four-year-old Glee Club is out of the Fort Wood mare Northern Chorus.
By the same sire as Frankel, Teofilo, Churchill, Gleneagles, and Nathaniel, The United States enjoyed plenty of success with his two-year-olds last season including Listed Dahlia Plate hero Kingdundee, as well as the likes of The Specialist, Rodeo Drive, Dixieland Band and Banff.
