Ridgemont’s five time G1 winning stallion Canford Cliffs looks to have a top-class daughter in the form of Direct Hit.
The latter made it five wins from five starts when she won impressively at Fairview on Friday.
Trained by Alan Greeff, three-year-old Direct Hit showed her well being in no uncertain terms with an authorative display in the Racing Today Pinnacle Stakes (1200m).
Despite being slow away, the Richard Fourie ridden filly quickly made up ground to lead early on.
From there, it was a one horse-race, with the 3-1 on favourite staying on to post a three-parts of a length win.
Bred by Ridgemont Highlands (who own Direct Hit in partnership with Devin Heffer), Friday’s winner is out of the Great Britain mare Wrecking Ball.
Direct Hit showed top-class form at two, winning all four of her starts including the G1 Allan Robertson Championship.
Her Irish classic winning sire has been in good form of late, with Canford Cliffs also responsible for the promising Miami Mountain.
The latter got off the mark at just the second time of asking when he won at the Vaal on Thursday.
