Master Of My Fate filly wins Devon Air Stakes

7th June 2026

Varsfontein Stud’s homebred stallion Master Of My Fate has had another fine season in 2025-2026, and the son of Jet Master was at it again on Saturday.
Not only did Master Of My Fate filly Alice B Toklas win the Listed Amusnet Devon Air Stakes (1400m) at Hollywoodbets Greyville, but another daughter of the Varsfontein star, Saint Brigid, won the second race on the card.

In landing the Devon Air Stakes, Alice B Toklas became her sire’s 38th stakes winner.
Trained by Sean Tarry (who also handles her half-sister World Of Alice), two-year-old Alice B Toklas came with a late rattle, under Keagan De Melo, to win the Amusnet Devon Air Stakes convincingly by more than a length and a half.
Bred by Varsfontein Stud, Alice B Toklas has won two of four starts, with the filly having finished third in the 4Racing SA Sales Cup last time out.
Saturday’s winner races for Messrs D Chinsammy, M A Currie, G M Frank & Vendel Civils (Pty) Ltd.
Out of the Hussonet mare Alice Springs, Alice B Toklas was a R350 000 buy from the 2025 National Yearling Sale.

Her paternal half-sister Saint Brigid caught the eye when she won Saturday’s Stitch Class 4 (F and M) (1600m) for Candice Bass, Aldo Domeyer, and Mr J N Farrell, Miss T Farrell & Greenacres Trust.
Bred by Drakenstein Stud, the five-year-old has won five of 26 starts.

Master Of My Fate is also the sire of classy four-year-old Splicethemainbrace, who made it 12 wins from 20 starts when she won the www.tab4racing.com Pinnacle Stakes (1600m) at Fairview on Friday.
Currently fifth on the General Sires premiership, Master Of My Fate has a single lot on offer at the KZN Yearling Sale.
