The remarkable Klawervlei Stud bred Captain Lars scored the 20th victory of his stellar career when winning a good race at Ffos Las on Monday afternoon.
The evergreen nine-year-old, dispatched the 6-5 favourite, made all to win the Interbet.com Handicap over five furlongs for trainer Archie Watson and rider Edward Greatrex by two and three quarter lengths.

He is by Klawervlei’s late champion sire Captain Al, whose major representatives in 2017-2018 included the G1 winners Captain America, Snowdance, Tap O’ Noth and Undercover Agent –to name but a few!
Captain Lars is out of the Polar Falcon mare Polar Charge, runner up in the 2000 G1 Oaks d’Italia (Italian Oaks).
Polar Charge is a three-parts to outstanding sire Pivotal (by Polar Falcon), who was represented by his 28th individual G1 winner this year when his son Lightning Spear captured the Qatar Sussex Stakes. Other major G1 winners sired by Pivotal include sire sensation Siyouni, Dubai World Cup hero African Story, and the likes of Sariska, Falco, Golden Apples, Saoire and Kyllachy.
