Mauritzfontein’s resident stallion Ideal World has been in a rich vein of form this season, with his progeny firing on all cylinders, and the son of Kingmambo had yet another feature race success when his talented 3yo daughter Helen’s Ideal captured the Listed Sweet Chestnut Stakes at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Bred by part-owner Peter de Beyer, Helen’s Ideal went out to make all the running in Saturday’s 1400m race and stayed on strongly to post a one length win in the 2019 Sweet Chestnut Stakes.
Now a winner of four of her nine starts, the Olympic Duel Stakes bound Helen’s Ideal has now won three of her last four outings and also finished a close up fifth in the recent G1 Gbets Cape Derby, beaten just over three lengths.
Helen’s Ideal, a three-parts sister to the Ideal World sired G3 Track And Ball Oaks winner Zante, is a 21st stakes winner for the French stakes winning Ideal World, whose other notable performers this season include G1 Sun Met hero Rainbow Bridge, G1 SA Derby victor Samurai Warrior, Kings Cup hero Dark Moon Rising, and Listed Glenlair Trophy winner Onesie.
Out of a Breeders’ Cup winning own-sister to outstanding sire Dansili, Ideal World is currently South Africa’s fifth Leading Sire by stakes with his progeny having already banked over R9.8 million in stakes for the 2018-2019 season.
