75th stakes winner for Trippi

4th May 2019

Drakenstein Stud’s champion sire Trippi was responsible for his 75th individual stakes winner when his son On That Boulevard won the Listed The Independent On Saturday Then And Now In Full Flight Handicap at Greyville on Friday evening.
The Klawervlei Stud bred gelding put his rivals to the sword when romping home to a clear-cut two and a half length win in the 1100m feature for trainer Tony Rivalland and jockey Sean Veale.

On That Boulevard took his tally to five wins from 14 outings and pushed his earnings to R432 044 with a fluent first black type win on Friday night, and he can hardly have been more impressive!

A smart winner on debut, and a winner of two of his first three starts, On That Boulevard was originally a R900 000 buy from the 2016 Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale, before later being re-sold to his current owners.

His outstanding sire Trippi enjoyed a memorable Friday evening, with the son of End Sweep also responsible for Sugar Girl and Vandah’s Spirit, who ran third in the G3 Independent Football On Saturday Poinsettia and G3 Independent On Saturday Personal Finances Strelitzia Stakes respectively.

South Africa’s Champion Sire of 2015-2016, Trippi is enjoying another great season in 2018-2019 with his runners including such graded stakes winners as Tristful, Love To Boogie and Chimichuri Run, as well as G1 Gbets Cape Derby runner up Charles.
