Varsfontein Stud’s exciting resident stallion Master Of My Fate, South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire by winners for 2017-2018, looks to have an exciting crop of two-year-olds to his name this season.

The son of Jet Master had a hugely impressive juvenile debut winner at Turffontein on Saturday, when his Favour Stud (breeders of the top class Master Of My Fate colt Twist Of Fate) bred daughter Basadi Faith made a winning debut.
Basadi Faith, who is out of the Captain Al mare Coral Colour, romped home over 800 metres to score by 2.75 lengths for trainer Paul Matchett and jockey Devin Habib.
The filly was the very first two-year-old runner for Master Of My Fate this season.
Basadi Faith’s sire has some very well bred 2yos representing him this season, with Master Of My Fate juveniles including youngsters out of such high class racemares as Rei Rei, Angel At My Table, Cymbeline, and Victorian Secret.
Master Of My Fate went close to securing his first G1 success as a stallion when his G3 Cape Classic winning son Twist Of Fate found only champion Soqrat too good in the G1 Cape Guineas run at Kenilworth on Saturday.
(Another first crop son of Master Of My Fate, the Boland Stud bred Lickerio made it three wins from just seven starts when he won at Greyville on Friday night).
Twist Of Fate, his sire’s very first winner, stakes winner and graded stakes winner, has now earned over R680 000 in prize money.
His multiple G2 winning sire Master Of My Fate has five yearlings on offer at next year’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
