Dancing Rags, the half-sister to Klawervlei’s exciting new sire Coup De Grace, was recently named the Maryland Bred Champion 2YO Filly for 2016.
Dancing Rags (by Union Rags) has won two of her four outings to date, and scored her signature win in the 2016 G1 Alciabiades Stakes at Keeneland where she accounted for G2 Pocahontas Stakes winner Daddys Lil Darling by a length.
The classy filly, who has already banked nearly $300 000 in stakes, also holds an entry in the 2017 G1 Kentucky Oaks.
Coup De Grace, who covered his first mares in 2016, is the only son of triple US champion sire Tapit at stud in South Africa.
Tapit, who has already been represented by five stakes winners this year, is the sire of more than 90 stakes winners, and his offspring have earned more than $192 million in prize money.
His son Coup De Grace was a top class racehorse, who won both the G2 Amsterdam Stakes and G3 Bay Shore Stakes.
Home Court, dam of Coup De Grace and Dancing Rags, is a G3 daughter of champion sire Storm Cat and Breeders’ Cup winning champion Jewel Princess.
