Mauritzfontein’s successful resident sire Ideal World made an immediate impression at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday when his son Cat Daddy captured the first race on the card, the Listed Marshalls World Of Sport Darley Arabian (1600m) in thrilling fashion.

The Glen Kotzen trained gelding, who relishes the polytrack, got a fine ride from Muzi Yeni, with Yeni timing his challenge to perfection.
Five-year-old Cat Daddy, who was always up with the pace in Saturday’s feature, hit the front close home and went on to score by a long neck, with the Snaith trained stablemates Native Tongue and Pinkerton finishing second and third respectively.
Cat Daddy, who claimed his sixth win from 28 starts in a time of 93.67 seconds, had previously tasted feature race success when victorious in the 2019 Listed Socrasync Toro Ya Africa Algoa Cup.
Bred by the Gary Player Stud, Cat Daddy is out of the Black Minnaloushe mare Eyona and is from the same female line as the Ideal World sired champion Hermoso Mundo.
His Prix Pelleas/Prix de Reux winning sire Ideal World is responsible for nearly 50 black type horses, with his tally headed by champions Hermoso Mundo and Smart Call and multiple G1 winner Rainbow Bridge. Ideal World progeny have been in good form this season with his flagbearers headed by the aforementioned Rainbow Bridge and Champion Juvenile Cup winner Peace In Our World.
