Darley Arabian win for Querari

31st Jul 2017

Maine Chance Farms’ highly successful young stallion Querari was represented by another feature race winner when his Paul Peter trained son Maximizer lifted his first black type when victorious in the Listed Avontuur Darley Arabian at Greyville on Saturday.

Querari

Bred by Maine Chance Farms, three-year-old Maximizer was well ridden by jockey Keagan de Melo to register an impressive first feature race win in Saturday’s 1600m contest by two and a half lengths.
The progressive colt, one of four stakes horses in Querari’s current 3yo crop –which includes G1 winner Querari Falcon, made it win number five, from just nine outings, with a comprehensive defeat of such high class performers as No Worries, Nebula, Irish Pride and dual Darley Arabian winner Night Trip and connections are keen to establish their rising star as a stallion prospect.
A R240 000 purchase from the 2015 Suncoast KZN Yearling Sale, Maximizer took his earnings to R337 137 with Saturday’s Listed victory.
Another son of former champion and G1 winner Querari, Liquid Rainbow, made it three wins from his last four outings for trainer Andre Nel when successful over 1900m at Greyville on Sunday.

Querari, whose 16 juvenile winners in 2016-2017 include stakes winner Joking and G1 SA Nursery third Wonderwall, is also sire of smart 2yos Monks Hood and Spring Breeze, who ran fourth in the G1 Premiers Champion Stakes and G3 The Sunlife Vitamins Debutante Stakes respectively on Sunday.

Quidura

A half-brother to Klipdrif’s exciting new sire Quasillo and recent G1 Diana Stakes runner up Quidura, Querari has six lots on offer at the 2017 National Two Year Old Sale, including a full-sister to impressive recent winner La Collossa.
