Sorrento Stud’s resident stallion, and former Triple Crown winner, Louis The King came up with an eye catching debut winner at the Vaal on Tuesday afternoon.

Louis The King’s three-year-old daughter La Valliere made a big impression when she made a winning debut at the Vaal.
Under Denis Schwarz, the newly turned three-year-old ran on strongly in the closing stages of Tuesday’s Tabonline.co.za Maiden Plate to win going away by two and a half lengths.
Trained by Lucky Houdalakis, La Valliere, who is out of the Manhattan Rain mare Diva Danny, was bred by Terry Andrews.
Her sire Louis The King has made a pleasing start to his stud career, with the South African Triple Crown/G1 Summer Cup winner’s first crop headed by Listed Derby Trial winner, and G1 SA Derby runner up Pamushana’s Pride.
A grandson of the legendary Storm Cat, Louis The King has a single lot on offer at the August Two Year Old Sale -a colt (Lot 167) out of a three time winning half-sister to the stakes placed Astral Athina.
