Sandown Stud’s bang inform stallion Pathfork struck yet again this season when his two-year-old son King Of Kildare made a winning debut at Turffontein on Saturday.
Trained by Roy Magner, King Of Kildare was sent off an 8-1 chance for Saturday’s 4Racing Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (800m).
The colt took command some way out and King Of Kildare kicked away to score cosily by three-parts of a length at the first time of asking.
Bred by Beaumont Stud, King Of Kildare is out of the Jay Peg mare Neala.
King Of Kildare was a R600 000 buy from the 2023 National Yearling Sale.
He is the first two-year-old winner this season for Pathfork, himself Ireland’s Champion 2YO Colt of 2010.
Currently fifth on the South African General Sires List for 2023-2024, Pathfork has had a tremendous season thus far, with his flagbearers headed by G1 Betway Summer Cup/Listed PinkDrive Michaelmas Handicap winner Royal Victory and dual graded stakes winner Main Defender.
The son of Distorted Humor has a single lot on offer at the upcoming Cape Racing Premier Yearling Sale Powered By Tattersalls and one filly on sale at the 2024 Cape Yearling Sale.
