Ridgemont Highlands’ sensational sire Rafeef looks to have a smart crop of two-year-olds this season, and the G1 Computaform Sprint winning son of Redoute’s Choice came up with another eye catching juvenile winner on Tuesday.
Rafeef colt Outlaw King made the perfect start to his racing career when he made a winning debut at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Tuesday.
Under Keagan De Melo, the Dean Kannemeyer trained colt came with a strong late rattle which saw Outlaw King storm home to land the www.caperacing.co.za Maiden Juvenile Plate (1200m) by an emphatic two lengths.
Bred by James Armitage, Outlaw King is out of the Greys Inn mare Way Of Escape.
The two-year-old was a R300 000 buy from the 2022 National Yearling Sale.
His sire Rafeef is also responsible for last week’s smart looking two-year-old winner Troppo Veloce as well as this season’s debut winner Midnight Fusion.
Already sire of the G1 winners Aragosta, Master Archie and Thunderstruck (as well as this season’s G2 Jonsson Workwear Dingaans victor Union Square), Rafeef has two lots on offer at the 2023 Cape Yearling Sale.
