Sandown Stud’s well bred and proven resident sire Ashaawes enjoyed a memorable double at Fairview on Friday.
The son of Kingmambo was responsible for Friday’s first race winner in the form of Espressivo, who got off the mark when successful over 1000m for the in-form combination of Richard Fourie and Glen Kotzen.

The lightly raced 3yo, making just her third career outing, powered home to score a neck win at the expense of the well-related Klawerkate.
Bred by the Ndoro Stud, Espressivo was making her Eastern Cape and polytrack debut having been previously placed twice in the Western Cape.
Just two races later, another 3yo Ashaawes daughter was back in the winners box, with Glamorous Life, also representing Kotzen and Fourie, romping home, as 13-20 tote favourite, to break her duck by two and a quarter lengths over 1300m.
Bred by James Armitage, Glamorous Life, second over a mile at Durbanville at her previous outing, was produced by the Fort Wood mare Duchess Delight.
A proven sire of such high-class performers as Priceless Jewel, Reim and Sanshaawes, among others, Ashaawes, also responsible for Saturday’s G3 Princess Charlene Starling Stakes hope Aurelia Cotta, has two juveniles on the upcoming CTS Ready To Run Sale Presented by Lanzerac Hotel& Spa –
