Friday double for Pathfork

8th Oct 2022

Former Irish champion, and G1 boylesports.com Vincent O’Brien National Stakes winner, Pathfork has made a good start to the 2022-2023 South African season and the son of Distorted Humor came up with two more winners at Fairview on Friday.

Pathfork struck first on Friday when his four-year-old daughter And We Danced claimed Friday’s TAB4racing App Pinnacle Stakes over 1600 metres.
Tracking the front runners for much of the race, the Louis Mxothwa ridden And We Danced hit the front 150m from home and powered away to score emphatically by three lengths.
Bred by World Wide Bloodstock, And We Danced has now won two in a row, with the daughter of Pathfork having captured four races in total.

Pathfork’s second success on Friday came in the very next race when his gelded son Moon Game landed the Racing240 For Racing. For You MR 90 Handicap over 1600 metres. Under Louis Mxothwa, the five-year-old powered home down the inside of the track to snatch victory by a neck.

Bred by Ben Botha, Moon Game has now won six of his 29 starts, with the consistent gelding having won four of his last five starts.

Both And We Danced and are trained by Sharon Kotzen.

A half-brother to the Claiborne based G1 Preakness Stakes War Of Will, Pathfork enjoyed a fine season in 2021-2022 when he ended the year above the likes of Dynasty, Var and Ideal World on the South African General Sires list.
