Bi Pot, a daughter of Varsfontein Stud’s successful resident sire Judpot, could be aimed at the G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic following an effortless victory at Turffontein on Saturday.
Bred and owned by Varsfontein, the Geoff Woodruff trained Bi Pot made it win number two from just four outings when bounding clear to record an emphatic 5.1 length over 1600m –and she looks a smart filly with a bright future ahead of her.
Bi Pot is one of two Judpot fillies entered for the G1 SA Fillies Classic, on April 1st, with the other being Listed Devon Air Stakes winner Maleficent. Should either one win, they would be following in the footsteps of Judpot’s daughter Juxtapose, who won the G1 SA Fillies Classic back in 2016.
The regally bred Bi Pot, who is out of the Darshaan mare Alexandra Bi, is a half-sister to eight winners, including former G1 Cape Fillies Guineas runner up Alexandra Rose. She is also a half-sister to Albizia, dam of Judpot’s G1 winner Forest Indigo, thus making Bi Pot a three parts sister to that former G1 Golden Horseshoe winner.
Her sire Judpot has a smart crop of 3yos representing him this year, with Judpot’s other notable 3yos including G2 Gold Circle Golden Slipper winner Final Judgement, and the above mentioned pair of Bi Pot and Maleficent.
The son of A P Indy has three lots on offer at Thursday’s Cape Yearling Sale, and a further four yearlings on the weekend’s March Yearling Sale.
