Gimmethegreenlight is tops at National 2YO Sale

14th November 2020

Varsfontein Stud’s boom sire Gimmethegreenlight dominated proceedings at the recently concluded Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.
Not only was the G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winning son of More Than Ready responsible for the sales topper, and two of the three lots to make R1 000 000 plus, Gimmethegreenlight also ended the two day sale as the Leading Sire by Aggregate.

His son Lamborghreeni (Lot 285) was knocked down for R1 200 000 to top the National 2YO Sale, with another Gimmethegreenlight colt, East Of The Sun (Lot 221) was sold for R1 000 000.
Consigned by Danika Stud, on behalf of the Missing U Syndicate, Lamborghreeni was sold to Team G Racing, while Form Bloodstock snapped up the Varsfontein Stud bred East Of The Sun.

While East Of The Sun is a colt bred on similar lines to all of Ecstatic Green, Hack Green and Breeders’ Cup winner Pluck, Lamborghreeni is out of the stakes placed Trippi mare San Trip.

South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2015-2016, Gimmethegreenlight topped the 2YO Sale’s Sires table, with his 13 two-year-olds to sell, from 14 offered, grossing R4 745 000.

The sire of 56 stakes horses, including recent Australian G1 winner Yulong Prince and multiple Equus Champion Got The Greenlight, Gimmethegreenlight has 11 lots on the upcoming CTS Ready To Run, Unbroken 2 Year Old & Mixed Sale, including a half-sister (Lot 159) to impressive recent debut winner Eagle Alley.
