Global View stars at 2YO Sale

19th August 2019

Ascot Stud’s well performed young Galileo horse Global View has made a very positive impression with his first crop, and the multiple graded stakes winner was at it again at last week’s Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.

Travel Master

Global View was the Leading First Crop Sire at the 2019 National 2YO Sale, with 20 of his 22 lots offered fetching R1 970 000.

His top lot was the Danika Stud consigned Vista Nova (Lot 320) who was knocked down to Team G Racing for R450 000.
Another son of Global View (whose first crop race this season), the Ascot Stud bred Travel Master, was sold to Lance Sherrell for R425 000.

Global View, who had a yearling last season make R1.3 million,  won the G3 Generous Stakes at two, and G2 American Turf Stakes at three.
The regally bred bay, who is closely inbred to the great mare South Ocean, is bred on the same Galileo/Storm Cat cross as such G1 winners as Churchill, Decorated Knight, Happily, Marvellous and current sire sensation Gleneagles.

His outstanding sire Galileo, who was recently represented by his 300th individual stakes winner, is having another outstanding season, with Galileo’s notable performers this season including such G1 winners as Anthony Van Dyck (Investec Derby), Sovereign (Irish Derby), Circus Maximus (St James’s Palace Stakes), Magical (Tattersalls Gold Cup), Hermosa (1000 Guineas, Irish 1000 Guineas), Japan (Grand Prix de Paris) and Waldgeist (Prix Ganay).
