Ascot Stud’s G1 winning sire Heavenly Blue came up with his first stakes winner when his daughter Three Rocks, a member of her sire’s first crop, won the Listed Lady’s Pendant (1200m) at Fairview on Friday.
One of two Listed race winners on the day for her breeder Ascot Stud, trainer Alan Greeff, and jockey Richard Fourie, the three-year-old showed her class with a sparkling display in Friday’s R150 000 contest for fillies and mares.
Under a well-timed ride from Richard Fourie, Three Rocks blasted home to pick up her first black-type win by a length.
Now a six-time winner from just nine starts, Three Rocks had finished third, beaten just over half a length, in the G2 wsb.co.za Southern Cross Stakes, two starts back.
Three Rocks, who is out of the Rock Of Gibraltar mare Rockie Bright, was a R100 000 buy from the 2022 August Two Year Old Sale.
The filly hails from the small first crop of her sire Heavenly Blue, with this crop, which consists of just over 20 foals, also including the useful performers Zinovi, No Apologies, and Spring In Heaven.
Winner of the G1 SA Classic, Heavenly Blue is one of 19 G1 winners for his sire Snitzel, four times Champion Sire in Australia.
