Seldom a week goes by without Gelykfontein Stud’s resident stallion Visionaire supplying some eye catching winners and the son of Grand Slam was at it again when Visionaire came up with two more winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday afternoon.
Visionaire sired runners Dowser and Dontshootthebarman won the third and fourth races on the card respectively to give their sire a notable quick double.
Trainer Glen Kotzen, who also trained Visionaire’s champion son Good Traveller, sent out Dowser to win the Slumdogmillionaire MR 76 Handicap (1700m) on Wednesday. Under a good ride from Serino Moodley, the three-year-old pulled out more to score by half a length.
Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, Dowser, who is out of the Silvano mare Premier Dance, was winning for a second time.
The Clinton Binda trained Dontshootthebarman provided Visionaire with his second success on Wednesday when he made all to win the Gabor Conditional Maiden over 1000 metres. Under log leading jockey Keagan De Melo, the gelded three-year-old romped away to shed his maiden by nearly three and a half lengths.
Another bred by Lammerskraal Stud, Dontshootthebarman is out of the Jet Master mare Aquila Jet.
Sire of this season’s G3 Tab4Racing Fillies Mile winner Emirate Gina, Visionaire has also hit the heights as a broodmare sire this season with his daughter Supreme Vision dam of impressive recent G1 Splashout Cape Derby winner See It Again.
