Maine Chance Farms’ prominent stallion Vercingetorix had a good day on Saturday. Not only was Vercingetorix responsible for three winners in South Africa on Saturday, but his son Super Commander won a good race in Hong Kong on the same day.
Under Karis Teetan, the Pierre Ng trained Super Commander turned in a game performance when making all to win Saturday’s Lau Fau Shan Handicap by a length.
Owned by Sidney Leung Kwun Wa, the gelding has now won five times in Hong Kong.
The gelding raced as Fearless Warrior in South Africa where he won twice from four starts and ran second in the 2019 G3 Cape Of Good Hope Nursery.
Vercingetorix also made his presence felt in South Africa on Saturday. Not only did his sons Lightning Glow and Nordic Chief both win at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday, but another Vercingetorix son, Max The Otter, won the 12th and final race run at Turffontein on Saturday.
Silvano’s champion son is also responsible for the promising three-year-olds Mia Moo and Hotarubi who finished third in Saturday’s G3 Mother Russia Stakes and G3 Betway Got The Greenlight Stakes respectively.
Currently second on South Africa’s General Sires List, Vercingetorix has 16 lots on offer at the upcoming Cape Racing Premier Yearling Sale Powered By Tattersalls including a colt (Lot 90) out of G1 winner Takingthepeace, a filly (Lot 121) out of G1 Golden Slipper winner Bilateral, and a full-brother to G1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas winner Chansonette.
