Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud’s blue blooded stallion Horizon gained a smart update to his pedigree when his progressive half-brother Silent Trigger romped home to a facile win at Kenilworth on Wednesday.

A three-year-old gelded son of Twice Over, the Candice Bass-Robinson trained Silent Trigger caught the eye in Wednesday’s World Sports Betting MR 77 Handicap (1400m).

Under Greg Cheyne, the Maine Chance Farms bred gelding powered away to win emphatically by a length and a half.
Now a two time winner from just eight starts, Silent Trigger is one of nine winners produced by the Lomitas mare Shina.

A full-sister to G1 Arlington Million winner, and five times South African champion sire Silvano, Shina also ranks as the dam of G2 Fillies Guineas winner Santa Clara, the stakes placed Sanskrift and the talented Horizon.

The latter, a son of outstanding sire Dynasty, made headlines first when he made R5 200 000 as a yearling.
The handsome bay went on to show his class on the racetrack where Horizon captured the G3 Politician Stakes and ran third in the G1 Daily News 2000 (a race won previously by star sons Dynasty and Vercingetorix).

By the same sire as the likes of Act Of War, Futura and Legislate, Horizon has a single lot on the upcoming CTS Farm Yearling Sale, and four lots on the 2022 KZN Yarling Sale.
