Mauritzfontein’s veteran sire Ideal World looks to have come up with a smart sort in the form of Mocha Blend.
The latter made it two wins, from just three starts, with a fluent display at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday.
Trained by Frank Robinson, three-year-old Mocha Blend turned Wednesday’s Gallop TV Class 4 (F and M) (1800m) into a one horse-race.
The Gavin Lerena-ridden filly powered away from her rivals to win as she liked by three and a half lengths.
Third on debut, Mocha Blend had won her only previous start by more than four and a half lengths, with the filly having won her two races by an aggregate of more than eight lengths.
Her connections suggested a tilt at the Oaks could be on the cards for Mocha Blend.
Mocha Blend, bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, is out of the Silvano mare Mocha Special.
Her sire Ideal World has been responsible for more than 30 stakes winners, including the Met winning champions Rainbow Bridge and Smart Call.
The son of Kingmambo has a single lot on offer at the Cape Yearling Sale a half-sister (Lot 65) to the useful Easy Money.
