Ideal World relative stars at Keeneland

8th Nov 2018

The Unbridled’s Song daughter Miss Exclusive, a close relative of Mauritzfontein sire Ideal World, topped proceedings on the third session of the 2018 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale on Wednesday.

Intercontinental

Consigned by Mill Ridge Farms Agent on behalf of Juddmone Farms as lot 898, the winning six-year-old mare was knocked down for $750 000 to top Wednesday’s day of trading.

Miss Exclusive was signed for by Marette Farrell, on behalf of Greg Goodman’s Mt. Brilliant Farm and Ranch, and Goodman commented after the buy, “We wanted to get a mare out of this family for a long time, so we’re excited. You always get good mares here. We tried to buy some of the family from Juddmonte at Tattersalls two years ago, but got outbid.”

Miss Exclusive, who had been covered by both Ghostzapper and Noble Mission, was produced by former Breeders’ Cup winning champion Intercontinental, a full-sister to Ideal World’s own Breeders’ Cup winning champion dam Banks Hill. Intercontinental, who earned, has produced 4 winners thus far, including the stakes placed Abseil –a three-parts brother to Miss Exclusive.

Intercontinental, one of five G1 winners produced by the stakes winning Kahyasi mare Hasili, earned more than $2 million in stakes, with her victories headed up by the G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf and the G1 Matriarch Stakes.

Rainbow Bridge

Her close relative Ideal World, the sire of Equus Champions Smart Call and Hermoso Mundo, could make more news this weekend, with his unbeaten son Rainbow Bridge a warm favourite to land the Cape Mile at Kenilworth on Sunday.

A son of Kingmambo, Ideal World has a single lot on offer at the 2018 CTS Ready To Run Sale –a colt (Lot 66) from the family of outstanding half-brothers Daylami and Dalakhani.
