Impressive debut winner for Elusive Fort

Klipdrif Stud’s Equus Champion and successful sire Elusive Fort was responsible for a very impressive two-year-old winner at Turffontein on Saturday.
His juvenile son Arapaho caught the eye when running on smartly to score a three-parts of a length win on debut when victorious over 800m for trainer Paul Peter and jockey Chase Maujean.

Bred by the Klawervlei Stud, Arapaho was the first two-year-old runner for Elusive Fort this season.

Out of the Captain Al mare Leeward, Arapaho is bred on the same Elusive Fort/Captain Al cross as a the high class performers Ernie (Sophomore Sprint) and Freedom Charter (G3 Champagne Stakes) and the smart performer Smokey Affair.

The Elusive Fort colt was a R100 000 buy from the 2018 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Elusive Fort, who shares his champion sire Fort Wood with outstanding stallion Dynasty, is enjoying another good season in 2018-2019 with his notable performers including the likes of Fort Ember, Secret Potion and Listed Sophomore Sprint runner up Elusive Trader.

The sire of such high class performers as Siren’s Call, Lauderdale, Elusive Heart and SA Oaks winner Secret Potion, Elusive Fort has six lots on offer at January’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale including a colt (Lot 54) out of G1 Cape Fillies Guineas winner Field Flower and a half-brother (Lot 55) to recent G3 Cape Summer Stayers Handicap hero Gimme One Night.
