Moutonshoek’s G1 winning stallion The United States had a very impressive debut winner at Turffontein on Saturday.
His two-year-old son Big Joe lived up to pre-race hype when making an eye catching debut over 1400m.

Trained by Mathew and Mike De Kock, Big Joe was well backed for Saturday’s Charity Mile 1 November Maiden Juvenile Plate.

Under Callan Murray, the colt came with a strong rattle to get up close home and win by just over a length and a quarter.

Bred by Moutonshoek, Big Joe races for Hollywood Racing.

Saturday’s winner, who is out of the Mambo In Seattle mare Always Red, was a R275 000 buy from the 2024 August Two Year Old Sale. (Always Red has a Fire Away colt (Lot 12) on offer at this year’s August Sale).
