The Vogel Vlei Stud based Judpot hails from an outstanding family which continues to make its presence felt throughout the world.

Judpot’s female line was to the fore once again on Thursday, when his relative Etoile Filante proved popular on the first day of the 2019 Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale.
Consigned by Kiltinan Castle Stud, the daughter of So You Think was knocked down to John McCormack for 330 000 –making Etoile Filante the third top lot sold at Thursday’s session.
“She’s been bought for an existing client and will stay here in Ireland,” reported McCormack. “I hope to send her to Ballylinch if they’ll have her. We don’t have a plan in terms of a covering for next year, though Lope De Vega will certainly be an option. She’s a nice mare and the family is one of the best there is. Alpine Star looks very exciting and you’d be hopeful she can add to her laurels next year. We’re just buying into someone else’s great engineering and the hope is that she’ll carry the bloodline forward. She’s still young and has a good cover inside her.”
The unraced Etoile Filante, a half-sister to Cartier Champion and four time G1 winner Alpha Centauri (by Mastercraftsman), stakes winner Tenth Star and promising two-year-old Alpine Star, sold in foal to Mastercraftsman.
The mare’s third dam is outstanding racemare and producer Miesque, herself the dam of Judpot.
The latter, a son of legendary sire A.P. Indy, is the sire of more than 30 stakes horses including Equus Champion Along Came Polly and fellow G1 winners Coral Fever, Forest Indigo and Juxtapose.
