Kenilworth success for Erupt relative

6th February 2021

Maine Chance Farms’ dual G1 winning young sire Erupt gained an update to his stellar female line when his close relative High Moon won at Kenilworth on Saturday.

Erupt

A year-old colt by Silvano, the Jagessar Limited owned and bred High Moon dug down courageous fashion to shed his maiden by a long neck.

Trained by Candice Bass-Robinson, High Moon, whose dam Makiwara is a half-sister to Erupt, had been second in each of his four previous starts.

The colt’s dam High Moon, a daughter of Smart Strike, also ranks as the dam of the smart performer More Magic-runner up in the 2020 G3 Matchem Stakes.

Winner of both the G1 Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris and G1 Pattison Canadian International, Erupt is a son of one of the world’s leading sires Dubawi.

The latter, whose sire sons include current sire sensation Night Of Thunder as well as proven G1 sires Makfi and Poet’s Voice, is the sire of nearly 200 stakes winners, and Dubawi’s progeny have earned in excess of $222 million in earnings.

From the same family as champion sires Encosta De Lago, Flying Spur and Holy Roman Emperor, Erupt has three lots on the Cape Yearling Sale, and eight lots on the Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
