Master Of My Fate colt lands Champion Juvenile Cup

25th July 2025

arsfontein Stud’s top-class, homebred stallion Master Of My Fate has had an excellent season in 2024-2025, and the son of Jet Master’s great run continued when his son King Prawn won the Listed Champion Juvenile Cup (1400m) at Fairview on Friday.
In landing the Champion Juvenile Cup, two-year-old King Prawn became the 32nd stakes winner for his sire.

Under Richard Fourie, the Alan Greeff trained colt came with a strong run, and, in a thrilling finish, kept going in the closing stages to prevail by a short-head.

Runner up, to star paternal half-sister Anotherdanceforme, in the Listed World Sports Betting Dahlia Plate earlier in the season, King Prawn has won two of five starts.

Bred by Ascot Stud, King Prawn races for the Wernars family. Friday’s winner is out of the Var mare Caviar and is bred on the same Master Of My Fate/Var cross as champion Tempting Fate.

The Master Of My Fate colt, a R250 000 buy from the 2024 KZN Yearling Sale, has a Heavenly Blue half-brother on offer at the August Two Year Old Sale.

King Prawn joins the likes Anotherdanceforme (G2 SplashOut Golden Slipper) and Golden Palm (G2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Nursery) as two-year-old stakes winners for Master Of My Fate this season.

The son of Jet Master has 18 lots on offer at the August Two Year Old Sale.
