Mid-week double for Mambo

12th Jul 2017

Moutonshoek’s successful resident sire Mambo In Seattle has been enjoying a good run of success lately, and the blue blooded son of Kingmambo was represented by a pair of winners at the Vaal on Tuesday.

Same Jurisdiction

Mambo In Seattle (of whose last four runners, three have won)’s first winner on Tuesday came when his 3yo daughter Watch My Dust produced an impressive turn of foot to win her maiden over 2400m.

Watch My Dust, who romped home to score by 2.4 lengths, is out of the four time winning Kahal mare Watchful.

Just a few races later, Watch My Dust’s year-older paternal half-sister Goodytwoshoes made it a double for Mambo In Seattle when running out a game, neck winner of the sixth race over 1400m.

From the yard of champion trainer Sean Tarry, Goodytwoshoes has now won her last three on the bounce and appears to be capable of still further improvement.

Desert Rhythm

Sire of recent G2 Golden Slipper winner Desert Rhythm (who holds an entry in the G1 Thekwini Stakes), Mambo In Seattle is a proven high class sire whose most notable runners include dual G1 winner, and millionaire, Same Jurisdiction, as well as high-class G3 Byerley Turk winner, and former July contender, Mambo Mime.

The former G1 Travers Stakes runner up has 15 lots on offer at next month’s National Two Year Old Sale.
