Mid-week double for Pathfork

25th May 2017

Highlands Farms Stud, part of Ridgemont, stand the bang in-form sire Pathfork, who was represented by a double at Greyville on Wednesday.

Pathfork

The former Irish Champion got on the board early in the day, when daughter Gorgeous Guest broke her maiden over 1400m when scoring by an easy three lengths for trainer Alyson Wright and jockey Anthandiwe Mgudlwa.

Just three races later, the progeny of Pathfork were back in the winners enclosure, when the Highlands Farms Stud bred Fellow Traveller justified favouritism with a facile five length romp over 1400m.  The Glen Kotzen trained three-year-old was scoring for a second time, having been a good second last time out.

Pathfork has enjoyed another good season in 2016-2017, with his top runners including the impressive Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery winner Precious Pansy and the very promising Twelve Oaks, winner of two of her three outings and a runner in Saturday’s G1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship.

Distorted Humor -sire of Pathfork

Pathfork shares his champion sire Distorted Humor with Maclean’s Music, sire of recent G1 Preakness Stakes winner Cloud Computing.
Distorted Humor is a truly outstanding sire (Maclean’s Music being his second son to sire a US classic winner), and is responsible for a winner of all three legs of the US Triple Crown. His 130 plus stakes winners include no fewer than 18 individual G1 winners, with Distorted Humor offspring having amassed in excess of $155 million in prize money.

From the same family as Redoute’s Choice, Pathfork is the covering sire on one lot at the upcoming Mares, Weanlings & Fillies For Stud Select Sale.
