Varsfontein Stud’s inform sire Master Of My Fate, whose son Han Solo finished first past the post in Saturday’s Listed Settlers Trophy, has enjoyed a good run of form this season, and the strapping son of Jet Master struck again, twice, at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday.
His daughter Capriccio made all the running when she ran out a convincing winner of the third race on Monday.
Trained by Paul Gadsby, Capriccio was given a fine, front running ride by Jason Gates, which saw the Master Of My Fate daughter power away to score by a length and a half, with another daughter of Master Of My Fate, Shell Seeker, taking third spot.
Bred by John and Liz Slade, Capriccio is out of the Count Dubois mare Mochalette. Runner up last time out, Capriccio has now won three times and has a further 17 placings to her name.
Master Of My Fate’s second strike on Monday came when his daughter Luna Eclipse won the eighth and final race at Greyville.
Trained by Michael Roberts, five-year-old Luna Eclipse claimed her fourth win when running out a front running winner of Monday’s last race. Under Rachel Venniker, Luna Eclipse stayed on gamely to win by two lengths.
Her sire Master Of My Fate is also responsible for former Equus Champion Tempting Fate, who caught the eye when he won at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday. That Dennis Drier trained gelding is now likely to travel to Cape Town for the upcoming Summer Season.
Currently fourth on the General Sires List, Master Of My Fate has three lots on the upcoming Cape Racing Ready To Run &2YO Unbroken Sale.
