More juvenile success for Gimmethegreenlight

7th Apr 2017

Last season’s Leading First Crop Sire Gimmethegreenlight, whose first crop of foals has produced five stakes winners and counting, was represented by his sixth juvenile winner this season when his daughter Queen Forever won first time out over 1200m on Friday.

It was a smart debut for Queen Forever, whose beaten opponents included impressive recent Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery winner Precious Pansy.

Bred by Varsfontein Stud, Queen Forever was a R100 000 buy from last year’s Val De Vie Yearling Sale. The filly is out of the Jallad mare Queen Of All, a half-sister to 3 graded winners including G1 Matriarch/SA Fillies Classic winner Gypsy’s Warning.

Her sire appears to have another good crop of two-year-olds this season, with them including impressive recent G3 Pretty Polly Stakes winner Green Plains.

Gimmethegreenlight has 10 lots on the upcoming Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale, including a colt out of G3 Starling Stakes winner Success Counts (Lot 45), and a colt out of four time stakes winning National Assembly mare Dream Come True (Lot 97).

His 18 strong draft on the 2017 National Yearling Sale include a colt out of a full-sister to Horse Of The Year Yard-Arm (Lot 53), a colt out of a stakes winning ½ sister to champion Argonaut (Lot 79) and a filly out of a stakes winning daughter of international champion Singspiel (Lot 104).
