More success for Master Of My Fate

15th March 2022

Varsfontein Stud’s homebred sire Master Of My Fate has been on a roll of late, with the son of Jet Master’s surge of winners propelling him to fourth spot on the South African General Sires List.

The strapping bay came up with two more winners when supplying a double at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday.

Master Of My Fate’s first success on Monday came when his Darryl Moore trained daughter Nkalanzinzi shed her maiden by claiming the second race on Greyville’s card. Under Anton Marcus, the three-year-old justified favouritism when romping home to land Monday’s Gold Circle Racing Youtube Channel Maiden Plate (F&M) (1400m) by over four and a half lengths.

Bred by Varsfontein, Nkalanzinzi was not winning out of turn, with the filly having finished in the first four in each of her four previous starts.

Out of the Windrush mare Elysian Gem, Nkalanzini was a R110 000 buy from the 2020 Cape Yearling Sale.

Master Of My Fate made it a double when his Oldlands Stud bred daughter Space Race justified favouritism to land Monday’s sixth race, the Call Now! Or play online www.trackandball.co.za FM 74 Handicap (F&M) (1200m).
The Paul Peter trained filly was given a fine, front running ride by Warren Kennedy, who took his mount to the front straight away. Space Race was game in front, and found more in the closing stages to win by a length and a half.

Out of the Alado mare Space Girl, Space Race was a R70 000 buy from the 2019 National 2YO Sale.

Second on the general sires list last season, Master Of My Fate has 28 lots on this year’s National Yearling Sale.
