Top-class four-year-old War Of Will, a half-brother to the Sandown Stud based champion Pathfork, picked up his second G1 victory when he won the G1 Maker’s Mark Mile Stakes at Keeneland on Friday.

Winner of the 2019 G1 Preakness Stakes, the War Front colt showed his versatility July 10 by outrunning longshot Parlor and favored Raging Bull in the $300 000 feature at Keeneland.
The Mark Casse trainee surged late in Friday’s G1 turf feature to edge Parlor by a nose, stopping the clock with a mile on firm turf in 1:34.55.
The Maker’s Mark was the fourth graded stakes victory for War of War and he has now won five times for earnings of $1 794 569.
“It was an unbelievable race, and we’re elated. It was a big win for the whole team,” said assistant trainer David Carroll, who saddled War of Will.
War Of Will is one of two G1 winners produced by Sadler’s Wells’ Prix de Bagatelle winning daughter Visions Of Clarity.
The latter’s G1 boylesports.com Vincent O’Brien National Stakes winning son Pathfork (by Distorted Humor) has had a superb season in 2019-2020, with Pathfork responsible for graded stakes winners Jet Start, Marchingontogether, Mighty High and Mr Flood in the current season.
Pathfork, who hails from the same family as legendaray Australian sire Redoute’s Choice, has 3 lots on the upcoming Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
