Highlands Stud’s well performed young stallion Potala Palace sports a fantastic pedigree, and his already impressive female line looks on the verge of improving still further over the coming months.
Potala Palace is a half-brother to a hugely impressive filly in the form of Front And Centre, with that 3yo making it two wins from as many starts when victorious at Durbanville on Wednesday.
Trained by Brett Crawford, Front And Centre romped home to score a 1.75 length when landing a FM 81 handicap over 1400m, and she looks a high class sort in the making.
A tilt at the G2 Western Cape Fillies Championship is now on the cards for the daughter of Dynasty.
Front And Centre, out of Alzao’s G3 daughter Alignment, is a half or full sister to eight winners, notably the multiple graded stakes winning sire Potala Palace and G3 Premio Verziere runner up Allegoria. Her half-sister Line Ahead is dam of graded stakes winners Excellent Result (G3 Dubai City Of Gold) and Midnight Crossing (G3 Robert J Frankel Stakes).
This is also the family of Singapore champion Debt Collector, who recently romped home to win the S$1 million Raffles Cup.
Front And Centre’s G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes winning half-brother Potala Palace has made a pleasing start with his first runners.
The son of Singspiel’s early winners include feature race winning filly Dalai’s Promise and smart debut winners Basilius and Palace Chapel.
From the same family as Sadler’s Wells, Fairy King and Nureyev (as well as current boom sire Blame), Potala Palace shares his multiple G1 winning sire Singspiel with current broodmare sensation Dar Re Mi –whose son Too Darn Hot is currently favourite for the 2019 2000 Guineas and Investec Derby.
