Quasillo, Querari relative impresses on debut

27th July 2020

Cape sires, and half-brothers, Querari and Quasillo, gained a further boost to their pedigrees on Sunday afternoon.

Two-year-old filly Thunder Beauty (by Night Of Thunder) stamped herself a filly to watch when she made a winning debut at the Curragh on Sunday.

Thunder Beauty broke well in Sunday’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden and was professional racing towards the fore throughout the early stages. Gaining a narrow advantage approaching the furlong pole, the bay lugged left and bumped Harannda on the rail but readily asserted for a 1 3/4-length success.

Winning trainer Ken Condon said after the race, “We seem to have a nice bunch of 2-year-olds, particularly fillies, and she had been showing up well in the past three or four weeks. We hope she’ s stakes class. She’sin the new Ballyhane race and that might bewhere she goes now.”

Thunder Beauty is out of the Dansili mare Quiania, whose G3 Prix de Psyche winning dam Quilanga is a half-sister to the dam of G1 Premio Presidente Repubblica winner Querari and G3 Bavarian Classic hero Quasillo.
